2015 Tournament All-Stars
1st Team All-Stars
Osita Arimah is essential to his team. He is dominant under the boards, and his rebounding is tremendous. Osita routinely puts up double figures in rebounds and in points. At the Kawartha Classic, Osita was an absolute beast on offence, and his defense was not far behind. He led his team in scoring in two of the four games he played in the Kawartha Classic. Osita is very deserving of the title “All Star.”

Jarred Callahan began playing competitive basketball at age 12 for the Belleville Spirits and fell in love with the sport immediately. He played a key role on the U14 Spirits OBA Division 6 Championship team in 2013 and the OBA U15 silver medalist in Div. 4 last year. During his high school career, Jarred has been a Bay of Quinte All-star for the St. Theresa Titans in grade 9 and 10, team MVP in grade 9 and recently led his team to Bay of Quinte and COSSA championships in 2015. Jarred is looking forward to another OBA season beginning soon. He looks to continue playing basketball throughout high school and hopefully post-secondary.
Ryan Benevento has had a fantastic season this year. This year, Ryan’s experience in basketball has inspired his Bulldogs’ team to win in the Zone Finals, as Ryan achieved 25 points. One of his greatest strength as a player is his ability to shoot quickly and consistently all over the court. All the players and coaches are proud of Ryan and his passion of basketball that he brings to the team.
Nathan Johnson rebounding and scoring helped St. Peter’s go deep into the Kawartha Classic. His jumping and offensive rebounding provided many second chance points for the Saints and an imposing presence inside for the Saints. He led St. Peter’s offensive assault against Runnymede scoring 29 points.
Kevin Otoo is a great shooter and also has top ball handles. He is very athletic and a has a team first approach. Kevin is most famous for his defensive ability, forcing the highest amount of turnovers for the team. He is currently playing under 16 OBA with CBA and he also travelled to play in Europe in the year of 2013-2014. Kevin went to Europe twice and earned a Gold and Bronze Medal. He plays AAU basketball as well as CYBL and interschool.

The addition of Jaylen Passley to the Irish Junior Squad has been immeasurable this season and throughout the Kawartha Classic. Averaging 15 points a game through the tournament, Jaylen exploded to another level in the 3rd game, going 5 for 5 from beyond the arc, solidifying his position as an outside threat. His passion for offense is only matched by his tenacity on defense, often demanding that he takes on the opponent’s best players, he does not back down from a challenge and raises the Fightin’ Irish to new levels.
Tyrese Alexander led all Jaguar scorers over the weekend while providing lock-down coverage on the opposing teams scoring threat. The first year guard brings deceptive quickness and the ability to consistently hit the three ball to lead the St Joseph’s back court. Look for big things out of Alexander in next year's Classic. Against Notre Dame, one of the top teams in the tournament he dropped 16 points.
Kevan Sullivan was the heart and soul of Adam Scott’s tenacious defense throughout the Kawartha Classic. The 6-foot-2 Sullivan provided an imposing presence inside for the Lions as he consistently provided double figures in points and rebounds. One of Kevan’s biggest efforts was his 16 points during a hard fought 38-35 victory over Notre Dame.
Dylan Alexander was able to find his groove in the Kawartha Classic. Leading the team in scoring averaging over 20 points/game. Dylan showed his dominance inside the paint with great short range shooting and powerful moves to the basket. Dylan will look to build on this incredible experience, as he brings his talents and confidence back to the TDSSAA in the West Region playoffs. The Ravens will be looking to avenge a loss in last year’s Championship
A super quick guard Matt Kiatipis often is defended by our opponent’s best defender. Although just a freshman Matt displays great court sense and an ability to anticipate where the rock needs to go. Matt has the strength and quickness to take it to the hole and the skill to drain the three- pointer if needed. A great defender with above average foot work makes Matt a difficult player to beat off the dribble. Sacred Heart is more than delighted to have this very athletic baller has part of its program!
